ACR Poker’s $1,050 WSOP Paradise satellite guarantees seven $30,000 Bahamas packages today, Sunday, Nov. 8, at 3:05 p.m. ET. The last four Sunday Megas all fell short of their guarantee, and ACR covered the difference each time, including a $38,000 overlay on Nov. 1, according to the room.

Quick summary

  • Today’s Mega: $1,050 buy-in, 3:05 p.m. ET (12:05 p.m. PT), seven $30,000 packages guaranteed.
  • The streak: overlays of more than $50,000 on Oct. 11 and Oct. 18, $20,000 on Oct. 25 and $38,000 on Nov. 1, according to ACR.
  • The prize: a $26,000 seat in the $50 million guaranteed WSOP Paradise Super Main Event, which runs Dec. 10-17, plus Baha Mar accommodation from Dec. 5 to 18.
  • Our math: the Mega needs 210 entries to cover its guarantee on its own. It drew 172 on Nov. 1, so about one in 25 entrants won a package.
  • The Mega shares the Sunday lobby with the first day of ACR’s $20 million Online Super Series.

How does the WSOP Paradise satellite at ACR work?

The WSOP Paradise satellite is a $1,050 tournament that ACR runs every Sunday, and it pays seven $30,000 packages instead of cash prizes. Everyone who finishes in the top seven gets the same package, so finishing first is worth no more than finishing seventh.

According to ACR’s Nov. 6 release, each package covers a $26,000 entry to the WSOP Paradise Super Main Event, which carries a $50 million guarantee, plus a stay at Baha Mar in the Bahamas from Dec. 5 to 18. The Super Main Event itself runs Dec. 10-17.

Today’s edition starts at 3:05 p.m. ET, 35 minutes after The Quattro, ACR’s new weekly Mystery PKO series, reaches its first Day 2. The Online Super Series also opens today, so the Sunday lobby will be crowded. If you came for the OSS, our preview of the $20M Online Super Series has the four Main Events and their buy-ins.

Why has the WSOP Paradise Mega overlaid four Sundays in a row?

The Mega overlaid because too few players bought in to cover seven $30,000 packages, which adds up to $210,000. ACR reported on Nov. 3 that the Nov. 1 Mega drew 172 entries and still awarded all seven packages, a $38,000 overlay. It was the fourth straight week with an overlay, after more than $50,000 each on Oct. 11 and Oct. 18 and $20,000 on Oct. 25.

Those numbers let you work out the rest yourself:

  • $1,000 of each buy-in goes to the prize pool. On Nov. 1, $210,000 minus the $38,000 overlay leaves $172,000 from 172 entries, which is $1,000 each. By the same math, the $20,000 overlay on Oct. 25 points to about 190 entries, a figure ACR didn’t publish.
  • 210 entries is the break-even point. Below that, ACR adds the money. Above it, the field covers the packages on its own.
  • The share of winners has been high. Seven packages for 172 entries is about 4.1% of the field, or roughly one in 25. With $1,000 per entry going to prizes, each $30,000 package needs 30 entries to pay for itself.
  • The first two overlays were the biggest. More than $50,000 in overlay means fewer than 160 entries on each of the first two Sundays, since $210,000 minus $50,000 is $160,000.

An overlay is extra value, not a guarantee of anything for you. Most entrants still go home without a package, and the field can grow this week now that the streak is public. Satellites also play differently near the bubble, the point just before the last paid place: every package pays the same, so keeping your stack is worth more than winning extra chips. Our ICM tool for bubble spots shows how much a stack is really worth in that kind of payout.

If $1,050 is too much for your bankroll, check ACR’s WSOP Paradise promotion page for cheaper routes before you buy in directly. A good rule is to fire a single bullet at a price your bankroll can absorb, not to chase the $30,000 seat with money set aside for other games.

What the WSOP Paradise Mega means for US players

US players can enter from most states, but not from Washington, Kentucky, Delaware, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Nevada or New Jersey, where ACR doesn’t accept accounts. ACR is an international room without a license from any US state, so state consumer protections don’t apply. Read our state-by-state US poker rules before you deposit. If you win a package, you also need to travel to the Bahamas yourself, which means a valid passport.

ACR takes deposits in Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT or by card, and it pays withdrawals in crypto. If you want a seat today, fund your account before 3:05 p.m. ET so you don’t miss registration. Our list of crypto-friendly poker rooms shows how deposits and withdrawals work at each one.

Your entry fee also earns rakeback. Through us, ACR pays 35% of the rake you generate, paid monthly. ACR’s release doesn’t say how the $1,050 is split, but the overlay math puts $1,000 in the prize pool, which suggests a $50 entry fee. Under that assumption, one Mega entry returns $17.50, and four entries over four Sundays return $70, whether you win a package or not. Our ACR review, with the 35% deal and the signup steps explains how to claim it, and new accounts can also take the 100% bonus up to $2,000.
