How did Andrew Lichtenberger win PGT Sprint Event 6?

Lichtenberger won by turning a nearly 10-to-1 chip deficit into a title. Card Player reports that he doubled up with A-J against Foxen’s Q-6, then won with pocket queens against A-3 to cut Foxen’s lead to 2-to-1.

Foxen almost closed it out soon after. His pocket jacks were racing against Lichtenberger’s suited A-Q, but a straight on the board split the pot. Lichtenberger then took the lead, picked off a bluff from Foxen and lost the lead again before he made queens full of fives to go back in front.

On the last hand, Lichtenberger moved all in from the button with K-6, and Foxen called with A-7. The board ran K-10-8-7-3. Foxen paired his seven on the turn, but Lichtenberger’s pair of kings held.

Before heads-up, the final table was full of players at the top of the 2026 standings. Lichtenberger burst the bubble by knocking out Brock Wilson in 10th. Reigning Card Player Player of the Year Jesse Lonis led when the final nine sat down. Foxen then took over the chip lead. He knocked out Brandon Wilson in fourth, then Lonis in third, when his pocket eights held against Lonis’ A-Q.
