How did Sergei Kislinskii win PGT Sprint Event #4?
Sergei Kislinskii won his PGT Sprint title by beating Brandon Sunshine heads-up with a flopped straight, then closing it out with ace-ten. According to the PGT recap, he took the first knockout of the final table, sending Mike Zulker out in seventh.
Sunshine was the player to beat for most of the day. He burst the bubble by eliminating Daniel Sepiol in 10th, knocked out Sam Soverel in eighth and reached the final table with the chip lead. He then eliminated Pierce McKellar in sixth and Dorian Pavon in fifth.
Andrew Lichtenberger went out in fourth when his ace-two, shoved from the button, lost to Joe McKeehen’s king-nine after a nine on the flop. McKeehen then three-bet all in with ace-four, and Sunshine called with ace-queen and held to set up the heads-up match.
Kislinskii doubled through McKeehen with pocket sixes against pocket fours before the three-handed play ended, according to Card Player. Heads-up, the chips went in on a flop where Kislinskii had a straight and Sunshine had top two pair. That gave Kislinskii a lead of more than 3 to 1. On the final hand, Sunshine shoved king-nine from the button, Kislinskii called with ace-ten, and the board ran A♥ Q♠ 9♠ 6♠ 2♦.
