888poker in a nutshell
888poker launched in 2002, originally under the name Pacific Poker, and it’s one of the best-known rooms in the world. The group behind the brand, evoke (formerly 888 Holdings), is listed on the London Stock Exchange and also runs casino and betting products.
Unlike Betsson and RedStar, which share tables with other rooms on the iPoker network, 888 has its own network: the tables only have 888 players on them. There’s also a Portuguese-language site for players in Brazil.
US$ 8 free to get started
888poker’s welcome offer works differently from most rooms: instead of asking for a deposit, it gives you US$ 8 free when you sign up. It’s a balance you can use on tables and tournaments chosen by the room, and the rules are listed on the offer page.
If you’ve never played online before, it’s a low-pressure way to get a feel for the software, the tables and the pace of the game before you put any money down. Later, if you want to deposit, the room usually has first-deposit offers, which show up in the cashier.
Rakeback at 888poker
Rake is the fee the room takes from every cash game pot and from tournament buy-ins. Rakeback is the part of that fee that comes back to you.
888poker doesn’t offer rakeback through RakebackPokerWorld. Through our link, you get the room’s welcome offer, the US$ 8 free, and you play with the promotions 888 itself runs.
If rakeback matters to you, Ignition Poker and Betsafe pay 40% through our link. To see how much comes back at each room that accepts players from your country, use the rakeback calculator.
Games and tournaments
888poker has its own formats, which helps explain why the player pool is so recreational:
- SNAP: fast-fold cash game. Fold your hand and you’re moved straight to another table with new cards.
- BLAST: a short Sit & Go for a small number of players, where the prize is randomly drawn before it starts.
- Tournaments: a daily schedule with PKO, Mystery Bounty and deep-stack events, from micro buy-ins up to the bigger series.
In October 2026, the room hosts the PokerNews Online Championship, with 40 tournaments and almost US$ 800,000 guaranteed. Details and start times are in our post about the series.
Since the network only has 888 players, the low- and mid-stakes Texas Hold’em tables are the busiest. If you’re after high-stakes Omaha or very high-limit tables, you’ll find more action on bigger networks.
Deposits and withdrawals
888poker accepts cards and e-wallets, plus Pix for players in Brazil. It doesn’t work with Bitcoin or USDT: if you prefer crypto, check out Ignition Poker or ACR Poker.
Payment methods vary by country and can change over time as local rules evolve, so it’s worth checking the cashier before you deposit. If 888poker’s payment options change, we’ll update this page. For more on paying with Pix in Brazil, see our post on Pix.
