How we rank

One point for each Omaha cash game the room runs: PLO with 4 cards, PLO5, PLO6 and Hi-Lo. Ties go to the room with more rakeback from our deal, then to the higher RPW rating. The PLO rake column comes from each room’s official rake table.

PLO, PLO5 and PLO6

In Pot-Limit Omaha you get 4 cards and must use exactly two of them with three from the board. In PLO5 and PLO6 you get 5 or 6 cards, with the same rule. More cards mean stronger hands, more draws and bigger pots. In Hi-Lo, the pot is split between the best high hand and the best low hand.

Rake in Omaha

Omaha pots are bigger, so they reach the rake cap more often than in Hold’em. That makes the cap and the rakeback weigh more by the end of the month. See the poker sites with the lowest rake and work out your return with the rakeback calculator.

Swings and bankroll

Omaha swings more than Hold’em: equities run closer and more pots go all in. Play a stake your bankroll can take and move up slowly.

Frequently asked questions

Which poker site is best for Omaha?

Top of our ranking: BetOnline Poker, with the most Omaha games of the 15 rooms we compare. The table on this page shows which games each room runs and how its PLO rake compares.

What are PLO5 and PLO6?

Pot-Limit Omaha with 5 or 6 hole cards instead of 4. You still use exactly two of your cards and three from the board, but with more cards the hands get stronger and the pots bigger.

Is the rake higher in Omaha?

It depends on the room. Some use the same table for Pot Limit and No Limit, others have their own PLO table, and a few have a lower cap in PLO. The PLO rake column shows which.

Do I get rakeback on Omaha?

Yes. Our rakeback is paid every month on the rake from every cash game, Omaha included.

How big should my bankroll be for PLO?

Bigger than for Hold'em, because the swings are larger. Many players keep at least 50 to 100 buy-ins for their PLO stake. Use our bankroll calculator to run the numbers.
