Stake in a nutshell
Stake is one of the biggest crypto gambling platforms in the world, online since 2017 and licensed in Curaçao. In September 2024, it launched Stake Poker, its own room that runs straight from your browser: there’s no software to download, on desktop or mobile.
The strong point is crypto. Stake works with more than 19 coins and usually pays withdrawals out in under 30 minutes. The weak point is traffic, which is still low compared with the big networks.
Rakeback and VIP club
At Stake, rakeback comes from the VIP club. According to Stake itself, rakeback is a percentage of the house’s commission paid back to the player; in poker, that commission is the rake. Your VIP level goes up based on the volume you play:
| Level | Volume wagered | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Bronze | US$10,000 | Weekly and monthly bonuses, rakeback and a level-up reward |
| Silver | US$50,000 | Everything in Bronze, plus a bigger reward |
| Gold | US$100,000 | Everything in Silver |
| Platinum I to III | US$250,000 to US$2.5 million | Everything in Gold, plus daily rewards (reload) |
From Platinum IV on, players get a VIP host, who looks after their bonuses and weekly reloads. The monthly bonus usually lands around the 15th.
The rakeback percentage isn’t fixed: Stake sets it based on your level and how much you play, and the amount you receive shows up in the VIP dashboard. If you’d rather have a fixed percentage, compare it with the rooms that pay 40% through our link, like Ignition Poker and Betsafe, using the rakeback calculator.
Games and traffic
Stake Poker has Texas Hold’em and Omaha cash games, from US$0.01/0.02 to US$2.50/5, All-in or Fold tables, low buy-in tournaments and freerolls every day. The rake is 7% in cash games and around 10% in tournaments.
Traffic runs to a few hundred players, with more tables in the afternoon and evening on US time. The room doesn’t allow HUDs or tracking software, which keeps the tables more balanced for recreational players.
Deposits and withdrawals
Stake works with crypto only: Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT and more than 19 coins in total. The usual path is to buy crypto on an exchange, send it to Stake’s cashier address, making sure you pick the network shown there, and do the reverse to withdraw. Go with USDT if you don’t want your balance moving with Bitcoin’s price. The step-by-step guide is in how to deposit and withdraw Bitcoin for online poker.
How to open an account
- Click “Open an account on Stake Poker” at the top of this page.
- Sign up with your email and password. The room may ask for ID to release your withdrawal.

- If sign-up opens a country-specific Stake site without poker, or if you have any questions, reach out to us on Telegram.
Stake Poker cash game rake
Stake Poker takes 7% of the pot in cash games, with a cap per hand that changes with the stakes and the number of players. The full table is in the room's rules.
